Photo shoot

Sunday we had a photo shoot with my friend Megan. She is starting up her own photography business and was kind enough to give up two hours of her Sunday to go outside in the 100 degree heat to take pictures of Filipe, Shiloh (a very uncooperative 16 month old) and I. Here are a few of our first glimpses:

Thanks Megan! Can't wait to see the rest! Wednesday we are headed to Washington DC until Sunday. Filipe has to go there on business, and it just so happens that my brother is there for an internship, so we decided to make it into a vacation! I am getting pretty excited! It will be fun to take our new little American to the nation's capitol. Unfortunately, on the way home I will be coming back solo because Filipe has another stop on his business trip. I am kind of worried about flying half way around the country with Shiloh by myself. I just keep telling myself that even if it is horrible, it is still temporary and eventually we will be home and it will be over, but it would be really nice if she could just take a little nap for the flight! I'll let you all know how it goes.

Awesome photos! I think Megan's business will be very successful.

I traveled alone with Finley in May. I gave her a little benadryl before the flights and she napped the whole time. It made the flights much easier on her, me, and the other passengers. If you decide to try the benadryl, try it beforehand to know how she reacts to it. In some children, it causes the opposite effect and makes them hyper! Good luck and have a great trip.

Jen...these pics are the cutest! Megan is in for a good career. Yep, I am with Melissa, benadryl works wonders! We have flown to Atlanta a few times, and that is long one, but the benadryl was a God send. Good luck..I will pray for you!

Love you,
Becca

Great Pictures! Megan is the best...I tell everyone I know about her. I think she has a very long-lasting career in photography.

Best of luck on your trip. You guys have fun...and yes, it is only temporary. I always say, plan for the worst and then be pleasantly surprised!

yeah!! I'm so glad you like them. I don't know if its because I'm part perfectionist or what - but I'm always so afraid people won't like their pics. ever since I posted I've been thinking "oh I should have put that one on" or "man, I should have posted this one...". Oh well, if I put all of them up there I suppose it would spoil your surprise. I had so much fun with you guys! I'll get the CD of all the rest of them to you soon!!

Wow!! These photos brought tears to my eyes! They are beautiful. I especially love the one of all three of you walking away.

Enjoy your trip!!!! Hopefully the flight home will be uneventful and you can have some special "bonding" time with Shiloh!

These pics are so cute. You guys abre such a beautiful family. You have inspired us so much through all that you have gone through. I know you guys had a long bumpy road with the adoption, but I hope that it was all worth the wait. We can't wait to start our process. The hardest thing right now is getting Collette to understand that we aren't getting rid of Dakota to get a new baby. And that Aunt Sharon won't let us just have her baby, Molly. We will get there. We all need to get together some time. I would love to see the kiddos in person.
My advise for the trip is to bring new toys that she has never seen. This keeps my kids entertained way longer then the same toys that we have at the house. I usually buy new books or coloring books for Collette. Also, plenty of things to munch on. DVD players are also a lifesaver if you know someone that has one. Have fun on your trip.

LOVE the pics...looking forward to seeing some more too! Just go with the flow while you're traveling solo with her... if you're tense, she'll sense it...and it is only for a short time...you can get through anything for a short time! ENJOY your trip and hanging out with Drew. I just prayed for your trip--bring a change of clothes for both of you, snacks and new toys she has never played with and some books--forget drugging her! :)

Blessings,
andrea

I LOVE them! Fabulous! It helps that your little girl is already SO beautiful...not saying Megan isn't good...just that Shiloh is a beauty to photograph. Anyway, my fav's are the one of Shi and Filipe, and then the one of all of you walking together. Precious.
